Rev. Gerald Wayne Evans, 83, of Palacios, passed away April 30, 2018. He was born November 3, 1934 in Tuff, TX to Ed Wesley and Bertie Light Evans.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Barbara; sons David Mitchell Evans of Gonzales, and Edward Wayne Evans and wife Carol of Lexington, TX; sisters Dora Smith of Medina and Edith Wright of Portkind, TX; brothers Leonard "Mike" Evans of Pipe Creek, TX, Larry Don Evans of Nevada, and Ronnie Evans; grandchildren Tiffany Lynn Evans, Matthew Wayne Evans, Jacob Mitchell Evans, Megan Evans, Rachel Evans, Lauren Evans, Jared Evans, and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and relatives 5:00-7:00pm Thursday, May 3 at Palacios Funeral Home. Services will be 10:00am Friday, May 4, 2018 at First Baptist Church Palacios with Rev. Chris Webb officiating. Graveside services and interment will be 2:00pm Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Oak Rest Cemetery in Medina, TX. Pallbearers are David Evans, Ed Evans, Jacob Evans, Jared Evans, Tiffany Evans and Matthew Evans. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
