George Peter "Geep" Ottis, Jr., 70, of West Columbia, TX died Friday, March 30, 2007, at his home in Columbia Lakes following a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born Mother's Day, May 10, 1936, in Old Gulf, TX to George Peter Ottis and Meda Mangum Ottis.

The Rosary will be 7:00 PM Monday, April 2, 2007, followed by visitation with the family at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2001 Katy, Bay City, TX, with Father Casey Jarzombek officiating. Entombment will follow in the Good Shepard Mausoleum at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck, TX.

"Geep" is survived by his wife of 46 years, Peggy Allen Ottis, and by his son Chris Allen Ottis of West Columbia and his daughter Letisha "Tish" Ottis Berryman and husband Joel of Belton, TX. "Paw" is also survived by his precious grandson Jaxon David Berryman. Surviving sisters are Jean Gage and husband Jim of Lake Arthur, LA, Kay Rae Milliff and husband Jerry of Wadsworth, and Lynda Kennedy and husband Jay of Bay City, TX.

Pallbearers will be his nephews, Terry Gage, Tom Kovar, John Milliff, Larry Milliff, Kelly Oates, and Mike Oates. Honorary pallbearers are his cousins.

The family extends special thanks to Houston – El Campo Hospice Care for the services provided to Mr. Ottis and his family. The loving care provided by Michelle, Kelli, and Rev. Don Storey is sincerely appreciated.
