George Stephen Neuman, 76, of Blessing, passed away February 14, 2018. He was born January 14, 1942 in Lolita, TX to Stephen J. and Ella Darnell Neuman.
After graduating from Tidehaven High School in 1960, George attended Texas Christian University on a full football scholarship.
His careers included working as a general foreman at Phillips 66, as well as at STP and later retired from Formosa. He also owned a construction company building homes. George loved hunting, fishing, cooking, gardening, especially growing his prize watermelons.
He was a very loving kind gentleman, always willing to help others. He never met a stranger that he didn't befriend. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
George will always be remembered for his great humor, laugh, and big smile we will forever cherish.
George is preceded in death by his parents; sister Wanda Rickaway, and brother Bobby Neuman. He is survived by his wife Mildred Cerny Neuman; daughter Dena N. Gomez (Adam) of Friendswood, TX; brothers Tommy Neuman of Lolita, TX and Johnny Neuman of Brenham, TX, and grandchildren Zachary, Taylar and Zane Gomez.
The family will receive friends and relatives 5:00-7:00pm Friday, February 16 at the funeral home. Services will be 10:00am Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Saul Garcia officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing. Pallbearers are Zachary Gomez, Zane Gomez, Brian Neuman, Chris Neuman, Kyle Neuman and Allen Neuman.
