George Guynes, 75, of Alvin, TX passed away Saturday, February 16, 2008 in Houston, TX. He was born April 1, 1931 in Blessing, TX to Harry Guynes and Annie Laurie Moore Guynes. He was a resident of Alvin for the past four years and a former Matagorda County resident of the Palacios, Blessing, and Carancahua Bay areas. George was a retired Building Superintendent and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law: Debra K. and Chris Grilli of Hempstead, Sherry L. Meador of League City and Karen R. and Terry Welker of Alvin; by his son: Michael R. Guynes of Alvin; by his grandchildren: Wade L. Jones, Aaron Connell, Michelle Welker, Christopher Welker, and Courtney Guynes; and great grandchildren: Cody and Cameron Connell.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Ethel Ann Guynes; by his parents: Harry and Annie Moore Guynes; and by his brothers and sisters: Bud, Opal, Hazel, Ben, Henry and Christine.

The family will receive visitors from 5 PM to 7 PM Monday, February 18, 2008 at the Palacios Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the Palacios Cemetery.
