George Brady Gunter, 71, of Port Lavaca passed away September 15, 2012. He was born July 21, 1941 in Waco, TX to the late Hiram Gunter and Hazel Ruth Carmichael Gunter. He was Past Postmaster at the Palacios Post Office, member of Palacios Lions Club, an avid golfer and member of Palacios Golf Course and loved to fish and hunt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Gloria Jean Gunter, brother Larry and sister Linda. Survivors include his wife Johanna Gunter; daughter Laura Curnutt & husband Tom; son Steven Gunter & wife Kim; sister Gail Ransom & husband Jim; grandchildren Jared Curnutt, Shane Curnutt & wife Heather and Dustin Gunter & wife Kendra and Great Granddaughter Shelby Curnutt.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5pm to 7pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at the Palacios Funeral Home with Jim Ransom officiating. Interment will follow at Palacios Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Walter Sturgill, Jaime Sturgill, Dale Bhenke, Morris Reedy, George Black, Jared Curnutt & Shane Curnutt. Bill Scurlock will serve as honorary pallbearer.
