Gary Don McGee, 74, of Bay City passed away October 27, 2026. He was born January 9, 1952 in Lebanon, Missouri to the late Clifford Don McGee and Mildred K. Brown McGee.

Gary was a kind, loving, hard working man. He cherished his family both biological and chosen more than life itself.

He was a very patriotic man. He served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He loved and believed in his country and the freedoms we have.

Gary was a Christian. He believed in God with all of his heart. He has joined his youngest son in the presence of Lord Jesus.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Cody Alan McGee.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Ann Nelson McGee; son Les McGee and his wife Nisse; brother Edward L. McGee; grandson Jackson Robert McGee; brother-in-law Whit Nelson and his wife Susan; aunt Judy Brown and nephews Donald, Brian, Jeff and Shawn Allman and Joshua and Jordan Nelson. He is also survived not only by biological family, but a host of a large chosen family.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at 2:00 PM with Matt Springfield officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the VFW Post 2438 or Nichols St. Church of Christ.
