Gail Elizabeth Denn, 64, of Bay City passed away April 25, 2016 surrounded by loved ones. She was born August 25, 1951 in Bay City to the late James Edward Lewis and Mary Helen Smith Lewis.

She was a 1970 graduate of Van Vleck High School. She served as Matagorda County Clerk from January 1998 until her retirement in November 2010. Her entire career at the Matagorda County Clerk's office spanned 32 years.

Her husband Vernon Denn and brother Larry Lewis preceded her in death. Survivors include her son Danny Denn and his wife Bobbi; her brothers Mark Lewis and his wife Leila and Jamie Lewis and his wife Sherry; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Mike and Becky Denn, Bennie Jo Lewis, Angie Lewis Collins and Mike and Judy Burkle, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5PM until 7PM Friday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Baldridge officiating.
