January 3, 1932 – April 8, 2023
Frankye Nell Simons passed away peacefully on April 8 th , 2023. She was born January 3, 1932 in the community of Post Oak, north of Detroit, Texas to parents Bernice Ford and Benjamin Franklin "BF" Crawford.
She graduated from Clarksville High School in 1949.
In 1950, she met and married the love of her life William Roy Richardson, Jr. after his service in WWII with the US. Navy.
They had 4 children: William Roy, Frank Allan, Brian Keith and Leah Ann.
Roy Richardson tragically passed away in 1962.
Her family of 4 became a family of 7 when she meet and married Henry Havelock "Jack" Simons of Midland Texas in 1965 after his service in the U.S Army. Jack had 3 children: Cindy Suzanne, Timothy Havelock "Have" and Jean Anne.
Frankye was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband William Roy Richardson, eldest son William, her second husband Jack Simons and step-son Timothy Havelock. She was also preceded by siblings Jacqueline Crawford Brown (Clarksville, TX), Johnny Crawford (Paris, TX) and Benjamin James "BJ" Crawford (Deport, TX).
She is survived by children Frank Richardson and wife Carol of Palacios, TX, Brian Richardson and wife Patricia of Midland, TX, Leah and Jeff Pittman of New Braunfels, TX, Cindy and David Murdock of Boerne, TX and Jean Anne and Frankie Knebel of Holiday Beach, TX. Additionally, she is survived by siblings Sue Partin of Center, Texas and Nathan Crawford of McKinney, Texas.
Franky Nell was a beloved Meemaw to countless nieces, nephews, grandkids, great grandkids, and great-great grandkids. She was a quilter. She probably made 50+ quilts for her grandchildren. Always with their name, DOB and scripture. She was famous for her homemade "sugar syrup n biscuits."
Frankye "Meemaw" loved the Lord and her family with a deep unconditional passion. She quoted scripture with love to all who would listen. She was a bowler, a quilter, a bridge player and so much more! She loved to tell stories of the past and she had various stories that kept her family in stitches.
The family would like to express their sincerest thanks to the community of Palacios and the members of Agape Family Outreach Church for their love and support in the last several years.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at the Agape Outreach Church 1811 Newsome Blvd in Palacios Texas on May 6,2023 @ 11:00 am.
