Obituary

Frank Crain, 68, of Markham passed away March 29, 2010. He was born July 11, 1941 in West Carroll Parish, LA to the late Edward Oscar & Gussie Lee Crain. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Markham. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, a guitar player who wrote many of his own songs and had a passion for antique tractors. He will be remembered and the man who gardened and shared his crop with everyone in Markham.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Crain of Markham; daughters Roxanne Vercher of Needville, Robbin Ratley of Kilbourne, LA, Kari Galvan & Chris of Markham and Dawn Luder & Chip of Bay City; sons Marshall Crain & Renva & Keith Crain both of Oak Grove, LA, George Franklin Crain, Jr. of Kilbourne, LA, Delton Ray Crain & Tracy of Brandon, MS and Darrell Joe Tomasek & Kimberly of Canyon Lake, TX; sisters Edna Lewis of Mer Rouge, LA, Ruby Nell McCain & J. L. of Hamburg, AR, Shirley Faye Hughlett & Gene of Spur, TX, Diane Putman & Donald of Fisk Union, LA, and Nancy Mayo & Randy of Oak Grove, LA; brothers Willie E. Crain & Dorothy of Monroe, LA, Bobby Joe Crain & Trish of Clinton, AR and Donald E. Crain & Darlene of Houston; 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6pm to 8pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, April 1, 2010 at the First Baptist Church in Markham with Rev. Jim Lane & Rev. Howard Harper officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing, TX. Pallbearers will be Charlie Crouch, Grady Quinney, Charlie McGuire, Henry Crain, C. W. Rush and Roger Stoffer. Honorary pallbearers will be David Bradley, Pat Patterson, Steve Klingaman, Mike Jenkins, Sonny Brune and his nephews. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Markham or M. D. Anderson Hospital.
