Obituary

Frank James Baker, Jr., 90, passed away on December 5, 2014. Frank was born in Bay City on February 28, 1924 to the late Frank Baker, Sr. and Alice Callaway Baker.

Frank graduated from Bay City High School in 1942 and soon went to work at First National Bank, where he remained until he retired in 1997. During his time, the bank changed to Wells Fargo. In 1992, Frank was an honoree of the 50-Year Banker Award by Texas Bankers Association, and then continued working another five years, retiring as Executive Vice-President and Trust Officer. He then had more time to spend hunting, fishing, golfing and ranching.

Frank is survived by his wife of 72 years, Tommye Ralston Baker, and son Frank Baker III, sister Janet Baker Gilbert (Gerald) of Grand Saline, and brother-in-law Johnnie (Ida) Ralston of Port Lavaca. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by sisters Inez Baker Schultz and Janis Baker Fulton, and brothers Aubrey Malcomb Baker and Donald Kenneth Baker.

Services will be held on December 11, at 2 pm, at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home, Bay City. Services will be conducted by Chuck Gossett of Houston, son-in-law of Frank's brother Aubrey, and will be followed by interment at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. Pallbearers will be Gary Ralston, Aaron Ralston, Glenn Ralston, Cameron Ralston, James Page and Tommy Schulte. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Cheatham, Bill Isaacson, Mike Baker, Carl Rhymes, Cecil Robert, Bubba Bucek, and Mike Pruitt.

The family sincerely thanks Sally Delgado, James and Sandra Page, Angels Care Home Health, and Hospice for their special care in Frank's time of need.
