Francisco Sanchez Zarate, 65, of Bay City, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Francisco was born on December 9, 1951 in Guanajuato, Mexico to the late Asencion and Nicolasa Sanchez Zarate.

Francisco was a rancher, always working with cattle. He liked to watch baseball, especially the Astros and the Rangers. Francisco loved his family, barbequeing when able and being outside.

Francisco is survived by his wife of 31 years, Zulema Vargas Zarate of Bay City; son Marcus Zarate of Bay City; daughters Marisela Zarate and Leslie Garcia; grandchildren Ava Garcia and La Chaz Garcia all of Bay City; sisters, Margarita Zarate, Adela Zarate, Eustasia Zarate, Hortencia Zarate, Salud Zarate; sisters Enedina De La Cruz & husband Juan, Euguenia Gonzalez & husband Ismael; brothers Pascual Zarate & wife Maria Elena, Sabas Zarate & wife Antonia, Max Zarate & wife Esmeralda; sister Yanet Baez & husband Armando. He is preceded in death by his parents, Asencion Zarate and Nicolasa Sanchez Zarate.

Visitation will be Wednesday March 1 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00P.M. at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Mass of the Resurrection will by 10:00 A.M. Thursday March 2, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Bay City, with Monsignor Gerry Cernoch celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
