Frances Gasaway of Bay City passed away September 2, 2023 at the age of 85. She was born in Mansfield, Louisiana on December 10, 1937 to Charles and Jewel Kelly Matthews and spent most of her life in Bay City, Texas.

Frances was the epitome of elegance and grace. She was always well dressed and never left the house without her jewelry on. She is remembered by her naturally loving nature, and care for her loved ones. She enjoyed having lunch at the Bay City County Club with her girlfriends, as well as trips to casinos for a chance at luck. She enjoyed having holiday dinners, and was known among her family to be an excellent cook. She also loved relaxing and cheering on her favorite baseball team The Houston Astros.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister Peggy O'Brien and son Steve Tyson Gasaway.

She is survived by her husband Steve Milton Gasaway; daughter Gay Lynn Standlee and husband Curtis Standlee; grandson Cody Bledsoe and wife Cristin Bledsoe; granddaughter Camryn Bledsoe; grandson Tyson Gasaway, and great-grandchildren Chandler, Cohen and Colson Bledsoe.

Visitation will begin at 1:00pm Thursday, September 7, 2023 at The Church of Christ located at 1200 Nichols Rd. Bay City, Texas. A celebration of life will start at 2:00pm with Tom Guffey officiating.
