Frances LaVerne Stewart Butler, 81, of Bay City, passed away in her sleep on Sunday, March 14, 2010. She was born March 18, 1928 in Mexico, Missouri, the daughter of the late Arnold Stewart and D'Arline Wray Stewart. She married Robert "Bob" W. Butler on December 22, 1946. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Bay City and was an active participant in Relay for Life.

She is survived by her husband: Bob Butler; Daughter and son-in-law: Judy & Tommie Burditt of Rosenberg; son and daughter-in-law: Richard & Lynn Butler of Bay City; son: Charles Butler of Palacios; by grandchildren: Troy Burditt & wife Jo Ann of Rosenberg, Marsha Butler, Grady Butler, Lauren Butler and Emily Butler, all of Bay City; and by her great grandchildren: Clay, Mason, and Brittney Burditt of Rosenberg. She was preceded in death by a son: Alan Robert Butler.

The family will receive visitors from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM Wednesday, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. Tom Morgan officiating.
