Frances Lillie Burt, 97, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2008 in Brenham, TX. She was born June 29, 1911 in Hornbeck, LA to George E. Starks and Mary Etta Stringer Starks. She was a former long time resident of Bay City and has resided in Brenham since 1998. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Bay City and was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughters: Margaret Haverlah of New Ulm, TX, Bonnie Theus of Silsbee, TX, Catherine Stevens of Clayton, NC, and Sue North of Hunt, TX; by her sons: Carl E. Burt of Bay City, TX, Jimmie Burt of Cortland, IL and Jack Burt of Bay City, TX; by her sister: Novella Creel of Brenham, TX; and by 32 grandchildren, 69 great grandchildren, and 24 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Carl A. Burt; her son: Thomas Harold Burt; her sister: Carrie Crosson; and by her brothers: Jim Starks, George Starks, Frank Starks and Griffin Starks.

The family will receive visitors from 5 PM to 8 PM Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at the First United Pentecostal Church, 700 Ave. I, Bay City, TX, with Rev. Marvin Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck, TX. Pallbearers will be Ken Haverlah, Wayne Haverlah, Mark Burt, Scott Henderson, Don Schmersahl and Lee Burt.
