Faustino G. Rivera, 81, of Bay City, passed away on January 19, 2017. He was born February 14, 1935 in Arucekaville, Texas to the late Raymond and Genoveva Gonzales Rivera.

Faustino was a musician who loved to play his base guitar. He played for Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and also the Daro Perez Orchestra from Victoria. Faustino loved to go gamble, going to the different casinos especially the Isle of Capri. He was an avid fisherman. Faustino was employed by the Crisis Center of Bay City. He never met a stranger. Faustino loved his family , doting on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Later in life he earned his GED ,of which he was very proud.

Faustino is survived by his wife of 57 years Minnie Sul Rivera; children, Linda Martinez & husband Jimmy, Sonia Rivera & Reggie Matthews; grandchildren, Adrian Martinez & wife Bianca, Leticia Martinez, Shari Williams & Miguel, Justin Matthews, Kendal Patterson & Jayver; great-grandchildren, Shay, Iyanna, Charlie, Kalie, Terius, Ty, Malia, Lyra, and Josiah.

The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be 9:30 A.M. Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. The Mass of the Resurrection will follow the rosary at 10:00 A.M., with Monsignor Gerry Cernoch celebrant. Rite of committal to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
