Obituary

Glendon Farris Crain, born in San Saba, Texas on June 19, 1945, moved to Bay City, Texas at a young age and became a lifelong resident, and pillar of the community. He made his worldly exit on Sunday January 7, 2024 at the age of 78.

Farris served his country heroically overseas in the US Army, was a devoted husband, patient and guiding father, honorable family-man, and cherished friend. He was a willing contributor of many one-liners, always using his sharp wit and impeccable timing to invite peace into any situation (Farris dealt with more than one feisty female in his household—we'd go as far as to call him a true survivor).

Farris was preceded by his son Wesley Allen Crain, and parents, Joe Allen Crain and Novella Skelton Crain. He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Carma Reynolds Crain, and 3 children, Cory Ross Crain (Crystal Crain), Erin Ashley Crain Clattenburg (Ben Clattenburg), and Kelsie Rae Crain (Nashir Carabali) and 3 grandchildren, Kenzie, Arden and Cam and sister, Prissy Osina (Darvin Osina), and 2 brothers, Mack Crain and Gary Crain (Karen Crain).

Farris is also survived by a circle of cherished friends, that truly turned into family. From raising children together, to joint vacations and weekly dinners, there was never a dull moment.

Known to his family as "Punkin," Farris was a loving brother, uncle, cousin, and nephew, and always looked forward to spending quality time together at family reunions.

As a true master of his craft, Farris was able to instill the values of patience, quality and good 'ole fashion work ethic into his business. His extensive clientele in the community was a reflection of his hard work, meticulous attention detail, innate talent, and trustworthiness. His work in the many local homes and businesses built strong foundations for relationships that would last for years to come.

Farris taught us the value of loyalty, the importance of a listening ear, and the power of a few well-chosen words. As we remember Farris, let us carry forward his legacy in our own lives, cherishing our families, supporting our communities, and making each word count. May he rest in eternal peace, he will be greatly missed.
