Ezequiel "PaPa" Garcia, Sr., 89, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011. He was born April 10, 1922 in Goliad, TX. to the late John and Maria Louisa Barboza Garcia. Ezequiel was a truck driver retiring from the Milchem Company. He was an avid lover of cats, especially his beloved BooBoo.

He is survived by his son, Sidney D. Garcia of Bay City; 2 daughters-in-law; Rose T. Garcia and Mary Jesse A. Garcia both of Bay City; grandchildren, Brenda Reyes, Eddie Garcia, Ezequiel T. Garcia, lll and wife Charlotte, Jennifer Garcia, Anthony James Garcia and wife Linsey, Richard Garcia, Monica A. Garcia, Stacie Garcia-Arellano, great-grandchildren; Russell Garcia, Christopher Garcia, Ashley Muraira, Sierra Garcia, Savannah Garcia, Alazae Longoria, Manuel Longoria, Selene Longoria, Davion Arellano, Anthony James Garcia, Jr., Gabby Garcia, Ronald Lee Gomez, Jr., Kaitlyn Gomez; 2 great-great granddaughters; and numerous nephews & nieces. He is preceded in death by his wife, Julia DeLeon Garcia in 2008; his parents; his 3 sons, Richard D. Garcia, Ezequiel D. Garcia, Jr., and Manuel D. Garcia; his 2 sisters, Josefina Garcia and Sarita Garcia; his 4 brothers, Sgt. John Garcia, Jr., Daniel Garcia, Santiago Garcia and Alfredo Garcia.

The family will receive visitors from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. The funeral service will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Minister Ezequiel T. Garcia III, Church of God of Prophecy, officiating. Interment will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
