Evelyn Ussery, 82, of Bay City passed away October 11, 2005. She was born October 15, 1922 in Charlotte, Texas to Alexander Charles and Ora Mae Jones Guest. A former longtime resident of Luling and Blessing, she had resided in Bay City since 1970. She retired from Bay City Jurnior High after 23 years of teaching and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Ussery and a son, Paul Ussery. She is survived by one son, David Glen Ussery of San Antonio; daughter-in-law, Kathey Ussery of Bay City; sister Dorothy Nell & her husband, Rip Van Winkle of Granbury, Texas and three grandchildren, Sarah Houston Ussery of Bay City, Candace Mae Ussery of Baytown, and Vanessa Michele Ussery of Everett, Washington.

Funeral service will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, October 18, 2005 at The Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Chester Sassman officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers include, Clifton Lowery, Cookie Koch and David Ussery. Arrangements are with Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City.
