IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Evelyn "Dolly"
Mellard Moore
May 5, 1948 – February 21, 2024
Evelyn "Dolly" Mellard Moore passed away February 21, 2024, after battling vascular dementia for a few years. Dolly was born May 5, 1948, to Connie Marshall Mellard, Sr., and wife Pauline Watts Mellard. She was the youngest girl of 7 kids and her Daddy fondly called her "Dolly." She spent most of her life in Southeast Texas, but later in life lived in Longview, Texas, Mooringsport, Louisiana and recently moved to live with her family in Blessing, Texas.
Dolly was blessed with two children, Yancey & Bridgett. They blessed her even more with 7 grandkids and 5 great-grandkids. She was known to often slip the kids a twenty-dollar bill or two and always say "don't tell ya mama."
She worked manual labor construction jobs most of her adult life, working many chemical and gas plants. Dolly could do any job a man could do and there wasn't anything she wouldn't try to do! Dolly ended her career in construction in 2012 as the secretary/errand runner/timekeeper, etc. of EPC field office, out of White Oak, Texas after 20 years with the company.
Around 2003, Dolly and her common law husband, Rickey Rinehart, settled down "at the farm" in Mooringsport, Louisiana. She enjoyed her horses and watching the deer. Dolly loved to cook and have her family come spend weekends and holidays with her. Her famous chicken-n-dumplins or spaghetti were always a hit. She lived a quiet life there until 2019 when Rickey passed away. They were together for 28 years and she was his caregiver until the end.
Dolly is survived by her daughter, Bridgett Lunsford and son-in-law, Mark; daughter-in-law, Laura Moore; step-daughter, Torri Wilson and husband, Jason; grandson, Cody Smith and wife, Sarah; granddaughter, Emilee Allen and husband, David; grandson, Reagan Hughes; grandson, Ethan Moore and girlfriend, Kendra; granddaughter, Alecx Rosar; grandson, Nathan Lunsford; grandson, Carson Moore and fiancé, Emory; grandson, Tyler Williams; granddaughters, Ciara and Greenleigh Wilson; grandson, Caleb Wilson; great-grandkids, Blayke and Barrett Smith, Wyatt Moore, Laynee Allen, and Bentley Rosar Wheatley; sister, Mary McGraw; sister, Patti Greene and husband, Eddie; brother, Marshall Mellard and husband, Mickey; sister-in-law, Sue Mellard; and many nieces and nephews, family and friends, and her loyal companion, her dog, Cookee.

The family would like to thank the Nurses and CNA's at Harbor Hospice Care as well as Port Lavaca Nursing and Rehab Center for their care of Dolly in the past 2 months!
