Evalyn Margaret Jones passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends June 16, 2016. She was born Dec.8, 1938 in Bay City, TX to Lee Jenkins and Myrtle Rose Jenkins.

Evalyn is preceded in death by both parents, two sisters Edith Littlejohn and Allie Jean Morris. She is survived by numerous siblings, Betty Jo McFarlain, Claude Jenkins, Charles Jenkins, Mary Jane Follis and Roseanne Reichert.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Escobar (Frank) and Vickie Sauls (Buel); five grandchildren, Shannon Griffith (Adam), Beverly Trombatore (Chad), Dawn Toman (BJ), Elizabeth Bierman (Ricardo Arriola) and Samantha Escobar. Eight great-grandchildren - Skylar, Stephanie, Mysti, Ethan, Mia, Chloe, Corbin and Kylie. Evalyn is also survived by many friends that she considered and loved as family.
Evalyn Jones may have been her legal name but she was famously known as Nana. Everyone has that one person in their family who holds the family together and in our family, that was Nana. Nana made sure that everyone knew they were loved and we all loved her with everything that we had. Nana was the heartbeat of this family and without her our hearts may not beat as steadily but we continue to live the life that she worked so hard to provide and give us. Our days will never be the same and time will seem to drag on without her presence here. Nana gave everything she had until her very last breath.

Saying she will be missed is a true understatement. Our lives and our hearts will forever be tainted with the massive despair and heartbreak that we now feel without the woman we called Nana.

A memorial service is planned for Monday, June 20th 10:00 AM at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home in Bay City, Texas.
