Etta Mae Brothers Harris, 65 of Sweeny, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2007 in Houston, TX. She was born August 9, 1941 in Geary, OK to Albert John Brothers and Nellie Delitha Steward Brothers. She was Baptist and has been a resident of Sweeny for the past 49 years.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Shari and Travis Schuerg, and Rhonda and Roger Barton, all of Sweeny; by her son: Leslie Harris of Santa Fe; her sisters: Joyce Grimes of Angleton, Martha Engman of Brazoria, Barbara Stanley of Lake Jackson and Geraldean Mitchell of League City; by her grandchildren: Brent Schuerg, Taylor Schuerg, Chelsea Christian, James Christian, Makenzie Christian, Mandy Wetzel, Brandy Reeves, Travis Schuerg II, Amy Schneider, Kim Barton, Jeremy Barton, Lauren Johnston, Roxie Johnston and Len? Gant; and by eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: James Jessie Harris, Jr.; her parents: Albert and Nellie Brothers; and by her brother: Thomas Brothers.

The family will receive visitors from 6 PM to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 30, 2007 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Nathan Burrow officiating. Interment will follow at Hawley Cemetery in Blessing, TX. The family will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons.
