Obituary

Ethel Mae Findley Knight went to rest on February 7, 2008. She was born in Montgomery County, Texas on July 21, 1914 to John Edward and Mary Louisa Latzer Findley.

Her family moved to the Sweeny area when she was ten. She married Calvin Cecil Knight in 1934, moved to Boling at that time and was a Boling resident for 66 years.

She held all her family dear and lived a long, full life. Some of her early memories included traveling by wagon and their first car which had carbide lights. Her best times were spent with her family, camping, traveling, playing cards and dominoes, or just preparing a meal together.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Edward Eugene and Beverlea Knight of Sweeny. Daughter Gloria Harrison of Sweeny. Brother Jesse E. Findley of Sweeny. Grandchildren Kimberly & Jimmy Folmar, Wharton; Karen and Conald Chierighino, Richmond; Kelly and Wendy Knight, Shreveport, LA; Susan and Jack Groce, Wharton; Glenn and Dana Achten, Austin; Jim Ed and Lisa Achten, Sweeny. Step-grandchildren David D. Harrison, Bay City; Radonna Harrison, Lake Jackson; Kim and Rick Waldrop, San Felipe; 26 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Kenneth Cecil Knight, grandson Bradly W. Harrison, step-grandsons Kevin E. Harrison & Kerry Keaton, and sons-in-law Chris Achten & David E. Harrison. Sisters Bertha Findley, Betty Orr, Viola Brown, Bertie Polensky and Beatrice Minshew. Brothers Lee Findley, J. E. (Buster) Findley, Robert Findley and Archie M. Findley.

The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Sunday, February 10, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 11 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Meadows officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Alzheimers Association.
