Esterlene "Esther" Hilscher, 80, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, April 9, 2015. She was born April 17, 1934 in High Hill, Texas to the late Alfred and Pauline Roeder Hilscher.

Esther was a graduate of Van Vleck High School, Class of 1953 and a resident of Bay City for 60 years. She loved animals, especially cats and horses. Esther was a loving and caring person, wonderful daughter, sister, aunt and friend

Esther is survived by her brother A. C. Hilscher and his wife Jacqueline of League City; nieces, Kim Martin and Connie Young; seven great nieces & nephews and numerous friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00P.M. Sunday, April 12 with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30p.m. at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Mass of the Resurrection will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 13, 2015 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bay City with Rev. Greg Korenek celebrant. Rite of committal to follow at 4:00 P.M. Monday at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Schulenberg, Texas. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Houston Hospice, P.O. Box 1417, El Campo, Texas 77437 or to the SPCA.
