Ernest Gene Munch, 86, passed away November 1, 2016. He was born August 1, 1930 in Pratt, Kansas to the late Ernest Munch and Jessie Johnson Munch. He graduated from Pratt High School and moved to Nebraska where he spent most of his adult years. For the past five years he lived in Texas with his son and family. He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Murdock, Nebraska for over fifty years. He was a jack of all trades, working as a carpenter as well as in farming. After retiring he enjoyed traveling with his wife with the Airstream Community and when at home would be found most of the time working in his yard.

He was preceded in death by his wife Maxine Stultz Munch and daughter Rae Jean Munch.

Survivors include his son Rev. Dr. Russ Munch and wife Carol; grandchildren Nathan Simpson (Christine), Chris Munch and Jessy Munch; great grandchildren Sarah Bloom, Max Munch and Ava Munch; sisters Kay Munch and Cheryl Daly (Pat); step-mother Eleanor Justice; sister-in-law Marilyn Bradley (Les) and nephews Mike and Mark Niehaus.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5PM until 7PM Thursday, November 3, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Bay City, Texas. In Nebraska, visitation will be from 5PM until 8PM, Tuesday Nov. 8, 2016 with family present from 6 to 8 PM at Hammons Funeral Home, Weeping Water, Nebraska. Interment will be at Emmanuel Evangelical Cemetery 334 St. & Church Rd, near Murdock, NE. on Wed. Nov. 9, 2016 at 10:00AM followed by a Celebration of life funeral service at 11:00 AM. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Murdock, Nebraska.
