Erna Jurek was born December 31, 1913 in High Hill, Texas to Edward Joseph and Emelie Wuerker Wick. She passed away March 19, 2006 at Bay Villa Health Care Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward Jurek, sisters Emelie Jurek, Matilda Shelton and Mary Wick and brothers Richard Wick and Alfred Wick.

She is survived by her brother Ed Wick of Carnegie, Oklahoma; sisters Rosie Jurek of Bay City, Elizabeth Davis of Carnegie, Oklahoma, and Frances Dornak of Lake Jackson and a number of nieces and nephews.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Casey Jarzombek officiating. Interment will follow at the Palacios Cemetery in Palacios. Pallbearers include Randy Jurek, Pat Jurek, Joe Jurek, Jimmie Lee Jurek, Robert King and Tom Peterson.
