Enrique "Ricky" Rubio, 20, of Blessing, passed away on November 29, 2025. He was born September 2, 2005, in Bay City.
Ricky was a beloved son, brother, tío, cousin, grandson, nephew, devoted boyfriend and a proud 2024 graduate of Tidehaven High School. After graduation, he attended Victoria College to pursue his dream of becoming a lineman and was employed with Jackson Electric Cooperative, where he recently received his Class A CDL—a milestone he was incredibly proud of.
Ricky was also a deeply loved athlete in the Tidehaven community. He was cherished by his coaches and teammates on both the varsity football and baseball teams, not just for his talent, but for his unmatched work ethic, loyalty, and the joy he brought to every practice and every game. Ricky played with heart, led with confidence, and lifted the spirits of everyone around him. His teammates saw him as a brother, and his coaches spoke of him with the highest admiration and pride.
Ricky lived a life full of passion, energy, and heart. Anyone who knew him knew how much he loved football, baseball, fishing, climbing powerline poles, spending quality time with his family, and being part of a cookoff team—especially when he was making beans. He proudly served as an umpire for Tidehaven Little League and a baseball coach for Los Tigres, where the little ones adored him.
His passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family, friends, and especially the entire Tiger community, where he made a lasting impact both on and off the field. Ricky's smile, his kindness, and his unwavering love for the people around him will never be forgotten.
Ricky was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ramiro Moreno, Sr. and his niece Kehlani Suniga.
