Elza Fairy Davis Quick, 91, of Bay City passed away January 17, 2010. She was born July 13, 1918 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to Henry and Annie Mae Adams Williams. She was preceded in death by husband Steven Willard Davis, daughter Wanda Fay Davis Paenitz; husband Robert Raleigh Quick Sr.; grandsons Jason Scott Rountree, Jade Bowling and Steven Paenitz.
Survivors include son Bert Davis and wife Sandra of Monte Alto; daughters Barbara Lee Davis Reeves and husband Bill of Monte Alto; Jean Davis Sugarek of Bay City; Laura Davis Rymon of Wadsworth; son Robert Quick Jr. also of Wadsworth; stepson Robert Gail Quick of Millington, TN; sisters Florine Lime of Weslaco, TX and Imogene Holland of Oklahoma; 31 grandchildren and great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with the Rev. Melvin Ryman officiating.
Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Billy Thurber, Eric Sanders, Jim Bob Van Dyke, Lonnie Paenitz, Scottie Smith and Bert Rountree. Memorials may be made to Matagorda House Healthcare Center; 700 12th St., Bay City, TX 77414.
