Elvira Anderson known as"Vera/Momo" of Clute, Texas went to be with her creator Monday, March 10, 2014. She was born in Raymondsville, Texas to Trinidad Paez and Juan Gonzales and raised in Bay City, Texas.

Vera was a long time resident of Lake Jackson, Texas area, residing most recently in Clute. She found joy in raising her children and later enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was very family oriented and loved helping others. She had a beautiful heart and everyone was always welcomed and made comfortable in her home. Her favorite color was purple.  She LOVED the Dallas Cowboys, hanging out with friends, traveling with her sisters and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Juan Gonzales; Sister, Maria Luisa Gonzales; Mother, Trinidad Paez; son, Gilbert Gonzales; Brother in law Isabel "Chevy" Gutierrez and Nephew, Joseph Gonzales.

Survivors include sons, Michael Mata and wife, Michelle Mata of Converse, Texas, Emilio "Lee" Mata of Clute, Texas. John Gabriel Gonzales of Lake Jackson Texas; daughters, Rita Trevino of Dickinson, Texas, Lena Torres and husband Fernando Torres of Rosenberg, Texas, Ester Escobedo and Husband, Jaime Escobedo of Clute, Texas, Monica Gomez and husband, Paul Gomez of Freeport, Texas, Katy Luera and husband, David Luera of Lake Jackson, Texas, Amy Rodriguez and husband, Ronnie Rodriguez of Temple, Texas; siblings John Gonzales and wife Mary Gonzales of Houston, Texas, Sarah Gutierrez of Sweeny, Texas, Susie DeLeon of Bay City, Texas, Twin sister, Frances Gonzales of Dickinson, Texas, Joe Gonzales and wife Mary Gonzales of Bay City, Texas, Thomas Davila and wife, La Dena of Sulphur, Oklahoma. She had 25 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

A funeral service will be held at 7pm Thursday, March 13 at Family Life Church in Lake Jackson with visitation beginning at 6pm. An additional funeral service will be held at 1pm Friday, March 14 at Taylor Bros Funeral Home in Bay City. Pallbearers are Stephen Pena, Jr., Rafael Garza, Jr., Ronnie Rodriquez, Jr., Michael Angelo Garza, Ismael Escobedo, Chase Ruiz, Robert Samora, Jr. and David Lee Garza. Honorary Pallbearers are Emilio Mata III, Sebastian Samora, Ryan Ruiz, Gabriel Elias Escobedo, David Wayne, Jr., Matthew Wiseman, Jaime Escobedo, David Wayne, Sr., Ronnie Rodriquez, Sr., Fernando Torres and Paul Gomez.  Interment will be at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.
