Elnora A. Oglesby, 87, of Palacios, TX, passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010. She was born September 22, 1922 in El Campo, TX to Axel Henrey Petersen and Signa Lyke Petersen. She was a lifelong resident of Palacios and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Palacios. She was also a member of the Alapha Club for 63 years and the Harmony Club for 25 years.

She is survived by her daughter: Jan Oglesby Hooker & husband Bobby of Del Rio, TX; her son: Terry Oglesby & wife Jan of Palacios, TX; by a sister: Ruth Vlanton of Houston, TX; a brother: Irvin Petersen of Palacios, TX; by grandchildren: Tracy Perkins, Dax Oglesby and Trent Oglesby; and by seven great grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Sunday at the Palacios Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, March 1, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church of Palacios with Rev. Andy Blair officiating. Interment will follow at Danevang Cemetery in Danevang, TX. Pallbearers will be Trent Oglesby, Dax Oglesby, Tracy Perkins, Larry Taylor, Bill Glaros and Michael Glaros. Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Gerald, Paul Taylor, Jim Petersen and Irvin Petersen.
