Obituary

Elmer Cleveland Lewis, 83, of Van Vleck passed away June 9, 2020.  He was born May 8, 1937 in Milton, Florida to the late Asa Lewis and Irene Blackman Lewis.

While serving in the US Army, he was stationed in France and played on the US Army Football Team. He loved playing dominos, the Texas lottery, and watching the Houston Texans play football. He was a die-hard Texans fan!  He also loved sitting on the porch with his nephews, niece in laws and great nephews talking and laughing. He sang and played guitar on the music team for many years at Harvest Time Church in Bay City.  He worked at several refineries in south Texas as a general foreman and retired from U.S. Contractors at Formosa Plastics at the age of 74!

He was preceded in death by his wife Sandra Gayle Lewis and a brother Clinton Lamar Lewis.

Survivors include his sister Sarah Hobbs; brothers Jerry Lewis and Ed Lewis and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM Friday, June 12, 2020 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 3:00 PM with Rev. Bobby Williams officiating.  Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be Andrew Deckard, Steven Boone, C. J. Medina, David Hajducek, Michael Hoke and Cory McKelvy.
