Elizabeth Barkley Williams, 80, of Bay City passed away March 19, 2022. She was born July 4, 1941 in Bay City to the late Howard Norman Barkley and Margaret Kilbride Barkley. She was a graduate of the University of Houston with a BS in Fashion, Marketing, Merchandising. She worked as a buyer for Sakowitz. Elizabeth earned a teaching certificate and taught Home Economics and General Science at several Houston area high schools. She also did post graduate work at Sam Houston State University. Elizabeth lived in and around Houston for 26 years where she did volunteer work in church, civic organizations, and C.A.P.S. (Citizens for Animal Protection). Elizabeth returned to Bay City in 1989. She was extremely active with the Matagorda SPCA. Elizabeth enjoyed spending time with her many animals and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Howard Norman Barkley Junior and Edward Barkley. Survivors include son, Travis Williams and wife Jennifer and grandchildren Billy Williams and Jordan Williams. A ceremony of life will take place at a later date.
