Eli Henry McElmurray, 76, of Bay City, Texas, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025. He was born on September 15, 1948, in Jacksonville, North Carolina to the late Eli Henry Crooms and Emma Belle Burns Crooms.

He was an electrician for 60 years- in Matagorda County for 40 plus years. He was the electrician at the Rice Festival and Rodeo for many years. His favorite hobby was fishing on our pier with his grandson, Nathanael. He was a faithful member of Word of Life Church in Wadsworth and served wherever he was needed.

Eli was preceded in death by his parents, Eli and Emma Crooms; and by his adopted father, Ancil Lee McElmurray. He is survived by his loving wife, Emma McElmurray; sons, Eli Henry McElmurray, Jr., and Eric Lee McElmurray; grandson, Nathanael Lee McElmurray; 2 brothers and 4 sisters; and a host of family and friends.
