Elena Huerta, 73, of Van Vleck, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011 in Bay City. She was born August 18, 1937 in Taft, TX to Felipe Lopez and Tomasa Zamora Lopez. She was a 45 year resident of Van Vleck, a member of the Rose of Sharon Pentecostal Church and she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband: Raymond Huerta Sr.; by daughters and sons-in-law: Alice & Jesse Canales of Bay City, Mary Stella & Damacio Vargas of Bay City, Dorene & Armando Tabares of Van Vleck; by sons and daughters-in-law: Martin & Eloina Huerta of Pledger and Joseph & Christy Huerta of Van Vleck; by her sisters: Rev. Janie Robles of Van Vleck , Angelina Quiroga of Van Vleck, Lupe De Leon of Bay City, Mary Aguilar of Bay City and Felipa Aguilar of Bay City; by a brother: Raynaldo Lopez of Rosharon; and by 27 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Felipe and Tomasa Lopez; by 2 sons: Manual Huerta and Raymond Huerta, Jr.; by sisters: Andrea Trevino, Macaria Garza and Josie Garcia; and by brothers: Juan Lopez and Felipe Lopez, Jr.

A Prayer service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, June 19, 2011, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 20, 2011 at the Rose of Sharon Pentecostal Church in Van Vleck with Rev. Janie Robles officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck.
