Elby Neal Hanna, 86, of Victoria passed away October 26, 2024.  He was born September 12, 1938 to the late William Voyd Hanna and Bertha Louise Sewell Hanna Norman.

Elby worked in the oil field in various positions.  He worked on rigs in the North Sea and then later as a consultant.  He owned Hanna's marina for many years and ran his own shrimp boats.  Elby loved being outdoors.  He enjoyed fishing and gardening and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Venita Hanna, a son, Billy Neal Hanna, a daughter Karen Dunlap, sisters Agnes Merritt, Quinda Hanna, Naomi Sweeny and Phyllis Hendershot and brothers G. W. "Buster" Hanna, Ray Hanna and Wesley Hanna.

Survivors include daughters Patricia Farned (David) and Gracie O'Haver; sisters Zana Ellis, Margie Mielsch and Fay Pounders (James); brother Paul Hanna (Sheila); grandchildren Thomas Cox (Megan), David Cox (Tatiana), Coy Clayton (Katie), Johnny Clayton (Christine), Samantha Livingston (Robert), Leanne Crow (Chad), William Baxter and Laura Baxter (Garrett Favor); numerous great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM Friday, November 1, 2024 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm with Dr. Mike Zimmerman officiating.

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Matagorda County .
