Edna Matula, 89, of Sugar Land, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2006. She was born January 16, 1917 in East Bernard, TX to August Fojtik and Sophie Tymel Fojtik. She was a resident of Sugar Land since 1990, a former long time resident of Van Vleck and West Columbia, and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Van Vleck.

She is survived by her daughter: Donna Matula Roberts & husband John L. Roberts of Sugar Land; by her sisters: Evelyn Schmalriede of Houston, and Della Biezenski and Gertrude Tallas, both of Van Vleck; by her brother: Victor Fojtik of Humble; by 2 grandchildren: Tracy Weakley and Jana Stucky; and by 3 great-grandchildren: Lindsay Weakley, Chase Weakley and Connor Stucky. She was preceded in death by her husband: Joe Charlie Matula and by her parents: August & Sophie Fojtik.

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 5 PM to 8 PM Tuesday, November 21, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Chaplin Sally Fox officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck, TX. Pallbearers will be David Branton, Rick Litzman, Eddie Biezenski, Richard Stucky, Clinton Weakly and Wilbur Shunka.
