Edna H. Hamlin, 98, of Palacios passed away Feb. 3, 2012. She was born Oct. 20, 1913 in Duke, Oklahoma to the late John F. Queen and Mary Duncan Queen. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ and a Charter Member of Queen-Hamlin VFW Post 2467 Ladies Auxiliary which was established in 1950.

She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas R. Hamlin, Sr.; son William Lloyd Hamlin, daughter Alta Marie White, and grandchildren Tip Patrick and Amie Hamlin.

Survivors include son Thomas R. Hamlin, Jr. & wife Gail of Rockport, TX; grandchildren Chyrel Brennan, Robert B. Patrick and Emilie G. Schneider and great grandchildren Robert Tyler Patrick, Shannon Lindley, Zachry Schneider, Amie Schneider and Madyson Schneider.

Funeral service was 10:00 AM Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 at the Palacios Funeral Home with Brother Shan Jackson officiating. Interment followed at Palacios Cemetery. Pallbearers were Charles Winfield, Chris Harvey, Tino Rojas, Gus Valcik, Gene Eggemeyer and Freddie Eggemeyer. The family asks that memorials be made to Queen-Hamlin VFW Post 2467 in Palacios.
