Edna May Covey, 92, of Bay City, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2007. She was born March 10, 1915 in Galveston, TX to John W. Petch and Mary Elizabeth Thrasher Petch. She was a resident of Matagorda County since 1976 and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

She is survived by her sons: James C. Covey & wife Claudell of Bay City and Connie Lee Covey & wife Geraldine of Knoxville, AR; by her grandchildren: Debra Kay, Beth Ann, Rosa, Sharon and Constance; by her step-grandchildren: Claude Mae & Milton, Nora, Betty & Jimmy, Peggy & Russell and Raymond; and by numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Walter Britt Covey; and by her parents: John W. & Mary Elizabeth Petch

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Warren Mutz officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park in Van Vleck. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Stephens, Russell Cram, Milton Jarrell, Daniel Mutz, Truitt Farris, and Jesse Longoria.
