IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edith Louise
Urban
February 18, 1946 – November 9, 2022
Edith Louise Urban left this life on November 9, 2022 at her home at the age of 76. She was born to Francis Harvey Gragg and Dorothy Melda Thompson Gragg on February 18, 1946 in Peebles, Ohio. Francis Gragg passed in 1947 and Dorothy Gragg remarried in 1954 to frank Daniel Burchett.
Edith is meeting her husband of 46 years, Hollie Warren Urban; father, mother, step-father, sisters Gloria Jane and Helen; brothers Robert Lynn, Orvie, Russell and Billy Joe and grandparents Arthur and Essie Thompson and Milton and Edith Mary Gragg.
She leaves behind sons Harold Leo Urban and Willie Dean Urban, 5 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, 1 great grandson, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Edith had two loves outside of her family. The first was her church and church family. Though unable to attend in later years, she was quite active before health forced her to slow down. She served as Acteens Director for several years. The second love was golf. She actually got her husband H. W. into golf. She told him she wanted to do something with him outdoors instead of sitting in the stands while he officiated football, baseball and softball. He retired from umpiring to play golf with his wife. As with church, she was unable to participate as much in later years, but she kept his game going by watching his swing. She especially enjoyed working at the Bay City Country Club in the pro shop. She made a lot of friends there. She loved going outside and watching the kids run and play.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Cedar Lane Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM with Rev. Mike Patterson officiating.
