Edna "Edie" Miller Foster Keenon, 87, of Van Vleck, passed away November 20, 2017. She was born June 5, 1930 in Harmon, Louisiana to Ace and Annie Mae Foster. Edie was preceded in death by her husband James W. Keenon in 2007, after more than 50 years of marriage.

Edie graduated from Industrial High School and Shreveport, Louisiana's Charity Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse in Columbus, TX and became a school teacher soon after. She graduated from Southwest Texas State University, and received her Masters Degree from the University of Houston. Edie taught school in the Garwood, Tidehaven and Bay City school districts before her long tenure as a teacher in the Van Vleck Independent School District.

Edie is survived by sons Micheal F. Keenon & wife Sue of Weimer, TX, and Patrick J. Keenon and wife Kathy of Van Vleck, TX; grandchildren Ross E. Keenon and Kelly Keenon Jahns, and great-grandchildren Riley Elise Keenon, Karsen James Jahns and Kasen Micheal Jahns.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 5:00-7:00pm Wednesday at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City, TX. Services will be 11:00am Thursday, November 30, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Van Vleck with Clint Lowery officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00pm at Lehrer Memorial Cemetery in Garwood, TX.
