Martin Duane Ryman, 66, went home to be with the Lord on January 22, 2025 in Bay City, Texas.
Duane was born in Bay City, Texas to the late Johnny Carl Ryman, Jr. and Jannie Valerie Crow Ryman on August 29, 1958. He was a 1976 graduate of Bay City High School. He retired from the Texas Department of Transportation as a supervisor after 33 years of service.
Duane enjoyed turkey and deer hunting, playing golf and spending time with his family and friends. The most important thing to Duane was being a Christian. He was a very active member of Nichols Street Church of Christ, serving as a chairman of the fellowship committee for over 20 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carla Cox and a grandchild, Bellamy Cooper Henderson.
He is survived by his wife Karen Johnson Ryman; son Jeremy Duane Ryman and wife Aleia; daughter Colleen Sue Henderson and husband Gerald; grandchildren Sophia, Deliliah and Charlotte Ryman and Stetson and Gentry Henderson; aunt Sue Crow; niece Jane Ellen Miller; nephew Jarred Saizan and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Nichols Street Church of Christ. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM with Jeff Hubbard officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be David Downs, Louie Etie, Billy Wright, Ronnie Bratton, John Cochran and Gerald Henderson. Alfred Sabrsula will serve as honorary pallbearer.
