Dorothy Margerum
Yeager
February 25, 1922 – July 14, 2023
Dorothy Margerum Yeager was born to Robert Margerum and Naomi Wilborn Margerum on February 25, 1922. She went to be with the Lord July 14, 2023 at the age of 101.
Dorothy graduated from Palacios high School. After graduating she worked in Bay City and met George Yeager. They married on September 4, 1944 and made their home in Bay City where they raised their two children. Dorothy was a devoted mother to her children and a loving wife to George for 70 years.
She was a devout Christian and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bay City. She became a member in 1950 and served in many capacities including Sunday School Teacher, member of the Women's Wesley Bible Class and was voted mother of the year in 1975. She enjoyed being a member and volunteer of many groups through the years. She loved spending time with family and especially making lovely quilts with George.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Margerum and Naomi Margerum Schoultz, her husband George Yeager, her son George Robert Yeager and many other beloved family members.
Survivors include daughter Vencie Dee Yeager Hartsfield; sister Jeannie Mount; sister-in-law Virginia Margerum and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the First Methodist Church. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jim Welch officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jay Chenault, Tripp Chenault, Robbie Chenault, Bobby Margerum, Dale Cox and Colton Pierce. Dwight Hadley will serve as honorary pallbearer.
