On October 26, 2025, Dorothy Marie Krenek Saha, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, joining her loved ones who have gone before her.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Gilbert W. Saha; her parents, Richard and Wilhelmina Kubesch Krenek; her stepmother, Henretta Krenek of Nada, Texas; and her brothers, Richard John (R.J.) Krenek of Miami, Florida, and David Krenek of Bay City, Texas.
She is survived by her children, Glenn Saha and wife Linda of Houston; Cheryl Saha of Houston; Timothy Saha and wife Sharon of Canyon Lake; and Gregory Saha and wife Cynthia of Sugar Land. Dorothy is also survived by her grandchildren, Lauren Savoie, Natalie Saha, Andrew Saha, Ali Smith, Evan Flinn, Erin Freeman, Ian Saha, Camille Rasmussen and Corrine Saha, as well as numerous great-grandchildren who brought her great joy.
Dorothy was born on June 28, 1933, in Nada, Texas, where she lived until her marriage to Gilbert on November 22, 1955. After marrying, they made their home in Bay City, Texas, where they began their life together and raised their family.
Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother who found great joy in caring for her family. She loved cooking and baking and was happiest when hosting gatherings filled with family and friends. A faithful member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Dorothy was active in parish life and served as a past president of the Catholic Daughters. She was also a member and officer of the KJZT Czech Society and a member of the Holy Cross Altar Society. Beyond her church, Dorothy consistently stepped in to volunteer and engage in her community. She served as one of the Pink Ladies at Matagorda General Hospital, dedicating her time and energy to helping others.
Throughout her life, Dorothy was deeply involved in her children's activities, attending countless school and sporting events and warmly welcoming their friends into her home. She worked for the Bay City Independent School District as a secretary in the school administration office for many years.
Dorothy enjoyed playing bridge and dominoes with her countless friends, sharing morning coffee with neighbors, and attending dances with Gilbert at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Above all, she cherished her faith and believed wholeheartedly in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM followed by Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Blessing, Texas. Pallbearers will be Ian Saha, Jeffrey Saha, Britt Saha, Kyle Freeman, Evan Flinn and Andrew Saha.
