Dorothy Elizabeth Richter, 67, of Sweeny passed away August 24, 2020.  She was born May 20, 1953 in Corpus Christi, TX.

She spent many years in the Virginia area working for the Internal Revenue Service and Department of Treasury.  She has many long-time friends still in that area.  She was very connected to her family at Lord of Life Church, where she enjoyed singing in the choir.  She absolutely loved animals and had her share over the years, even worked at a pet store after retiring.  Her whole life was dedicated to loving animals and making music.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Vogler Smith and Grandparents, Robert L. and Dorothy S. Vogler, of Corpus Christi, TX.

Survivors include her father William G. Smith; sister Jane Jacobs & her husband Mike; brother Mark Smith & his wife Carol O'Dell; her niece, Nikki Jacobs and nephew, William Connor Dell Smith; her Cockatoo, Bongo Richter and her Cats, Schotze and George Richter.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Bay City, TX.  A rosary will be recited at 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 2 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, also in Bay City, TX, followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.  Interment will be at the Sweeny Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, she requested that donations be made to the ASPCA.
