Dorothy Mae Ramsey, 93, of Palacios, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 11, 2014. Dorothy was born on August 27, 1920, in Palacios, Texas to the late Bon and Sue Ella Gillaspie. She was devoted to her family and her friends. She was always eager to share her faith in the Lord with anyone that would listen. In her last years, she spent many months at Houston Methodist Hospital. She impacted everyone from the nutrition staff to the hospital administrators with her courage and faith in God. Dorothy was a living testament in her beliefs until God said, "You've done enough, Come home." She is survived by her daughter, Sue Ramsey Wickham, of Conroe, Tx., sons, Carrel O. Ramsey, of Palacios, Tx. Ken Ramsey, of Cat Spring, Tx., and Rick Ramsey, of Angleton, Tx. Grandchildren Shongh Ramsey Smith (Steve) of Katy, Tx. Latrichia Ramsey Thomas(Richard) of Bryan, Tx. George H. Wickham lll (Cindy) of Huntsville, Tx. Dana Ramsey Carter (Greg) of Sweeny, Tx. and Megan Ramsey Glass (Michael) of Atascosita, Tx., and twelve great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, E. O. Ramsey, parents, brothers, Curtis Lillard, Otha Lee "Slim" Gillaspie, Son-in-law George H. Wickham, Jr. and daughter-in-law Betty Jean Ramsey. She will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral service will be held Monday, June 16, 2014 at 2pm at First Baptist Church of Palacios with interment to follow at Hawley Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home in Palacios, Texas on Sunday June 15, 2014 from 5pm to 8pm. Serving as pallbearers are Mark R. Adams, G. W. Franzen, Chipper Holt, Nubbin Chamblee, Pete Griffith and James Kubecka.
