Dorothy L. Hamlin, 86, of Palacios passed away Sept. 20, 2010. She was born January 17, 1924 in Round Rock, TX to the late Richard Nelson Thompson & Margaret Elizabeth Daniel Thompson. She was a longtime resident of Palacios and worked as a cook in several area restaurants.

Her husband Eldon H. Hamlin, Sr.; daughter Dorothy Marie Hill; son Eldon H. Hamlin, Jr.; sister Hazel Hominick ; brothers Fulton, Russell Gilford, O. B., & Nelson Thompson and 3 grandchildren all preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons Richard B. Hamlin and Kenneth W. Hamlin & wife Yvonne all of Palacios; sisters Dora Ann Rogers of Hobbs, NM and Nellie Rockenbaugh of Palacios; 9 grandchildren and numerous great, great-great, and great-great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 6pm – 8pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010 at the Palacios Funeral Home with Rev. June White officiating. Interment will follow at Palacios Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Albert Gonzales, Tommy Beard, Gene Young, Philip Hamlin, Eldon Hill and Tim Hill, MD.
