Doris "Dot" E. Shumaker Jackson was born January 4, 1922 in Oklahoma City, OK to the late James F. Huskey and Mary Ethel Easley Huskey. Dot departed this world April 2, 2011. She was a loving wife and mother, a devoted Christian and a member of First Baptist Church in Markham, TX.

Her first husband Captain David M. Shumaker, sister Velora Deason and brother Eugene Huskey all preceded her in death. Survivors include husband Claude Monard Jackson; children Samuel Ray Jackson of Richmond, Timothy E. Jackson (Terry) of Markham, Denise Jackson Peters of Needville, Terry Lou (Robert) Shumaker Mikeska of Virginia Beach, VA, Cherri Shumaker Myska of Rosenberg, David E. (Helen) Shumaker of College Station, M. Jay Shumaker of Rosenberg and Kent Allen (Terry) Shumaker of Montgomery, TX; sister Kathryn (Si) Grider of Arthur City, TX; fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Markham. Graveside services will be 2:30 PM Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, TX. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
