Doris Marie Green, passed away on September 9, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones at the age of 83.  She was born to Leo and Avis Coleman on June 25th, 1940, in Garrison, Texas.  Doris graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1958.  In July of 1965 she gave birth to her one and only son Richard Guy Brown.  Doris later married the love of her life, James Troy Green on February 6th, 1987, in Seminole, Texas, where they shared 23 wonderful years together.

Doris, worked as a bank teller and a secretary throughout her life, but her most fulfilling purpose was being a mother to Richard and Memaw to all her grandchildren. They were the loves of her life. She loved to cook, bake, and play piano, Doris devoted her life to helping others in many ways, one of which was to volunteer at the local hospital in Seminole, as one of The Pink Ladies.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Avis Coleman, husband Troy Green, son Richard Guy Brown, and brother Larry Coleman.  Doris is survived by her brothers Don Coleman and wife Virgina of Huntsville, Kenneth Coleman and wife Peggy of Houston, sister-in-law Anna Coleman of Thailand, daughter-in-law Sheryl Langston of Bay City, grandchildren Ashley Cook and husband Cody of Bay City, Taylor Brown and wife Emma of Newgulf, Kelsie Bolton, and husband Tate of Mississippi, great grand-children Kailyn and Barrett Cook and Taylor Guy Brown Jr. Memaw also had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins who she loved dearly.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday September 15th at Calvary Baptist Church located at 3321 6th street Bay City, TX 77414. Pastor Lane Par-Due will be officiating the services. Lunch will be provided for close family and friends following the service.
