Doris Ann "Doree" Myers McKinley, 70, of Alvin, TX went to be with the Lord May 31, 2018. She was born April 22, 1948 in Refugio, TX to the late Charlie Arthur Myers, Jr. and Lillian Lelia Culpepper Myers.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charlie A. Myers III.
Survivors include nieces Shannon Lee Davis of Alvin, TX and Lana Lynn Iapicco & husband Tom of Spring Hill, Florida; nephews Clayton Alan Myers & wife Kym of George West, TX and Sam Blackard of Alvin; sister-in-law Dee Anne Myers of Alvin, TX; 9 great nieces and nephews, and 3 great, great nieces and nephews.
Doree loved being with her family and friends. She possessed a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed laughing and looking for the comedy in all situations. Her quick wit and spontaneous zest for life left those around her laughing and feeling happy just by being in her presence. After retiring from the Rio Vista School District as a Child Nutritionist, Doree spent time serving her community within the National Republican Party volunteering during elections. She was also an active member of The West Hill Church of Christ in Cleburne, Texas.
Doree had many hobbies and was passionate about music. She loved to sing and listen to Elvis Presley. She was also a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed cheering them on during football season. Doree's love for the Lord was evident in her attitude towards life and her giving spirit to those in need. She will be remembered by the love and generosity she expressed to others.
A memorial service honoring her life will be announced at a later date.
