Donald Ray Wendel, 74, of Bay City went home to be with the Lord on June 12, 2025.  He was born June 19, 1950 in El Campo, Texas to the late Henry J. Wendel and Dorothy Marie Kasparek Wendel.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Irene Parr.

Survivors include sisters Adeline Tedder (Tommy) and Maryann Rush (Dennis); brother-in-law Johnny Parr; nieces and nephews Shanna Tedder, Amy Armantrout, Stacey Johnson, Vanessa Ferguson, Justin Rush and Jarret Rush and by numerous great nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.

Don (or Donnie to most of us) was not only a devoted son but was also a loving, caring big brother, uncle and true friend to many.  His brother-in-law, JJ, considered him more like an actual brother and Saturday morning breakfasts together will be missed.  A truly big man with a big heart, Donnie's passing has left a big void in the hearts of so many.  He will never be forgotten but this isn't goodbye…it's simply a 'see you later' until we  someday meet again.  Until then, rest easy, Donnie.

A life celebration in honor and memory of Donnie will be held from 11 am-4 pm Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the Birding Nature Center, 1025 Hwy. 35, Bay City.  Lunch will be served at noon and please come casual.
