Don Bohner
Born February 18, 1938, Donald William Bohner, passed away peacefully at home November 29, 2022 at the age of 84. After two decades of naval service, Don moved his family to Bay City in 1979 where he served Houston Lighting & Power and the South Texas Nuclear Project. Don served in lay ministry as well as the building and stewardship committees at St. Peter Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Bay City.
Don was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Evelyn Phyllis (Fulgham) Bohner, daughter Jeanine Marie Bohner; his parents Leonard Pierre Bohner and Ruth Grace Kenning Bohner; sister Charlene (Bohner) Roehrig; brothers-in-law Caleb Richard Fulgham, Richard Leonard Fulgham, Jr., Joel W. Fulgham, James D. Marshall and Jack Roehrig; nephews Daniel Roehrig and Edward Roehrig.
Private family interment at Cedarvale Bay City Cemetery commenced December 2, 2022 including flag-folding by a Navy Veteran; Don's loyal C.N.A. Sheri placed his military wreath from the Wreaths Across America project at graveside prior to the Christmas holiday; military headstone placement will be forthcoming this spring.
Evelyn Bohner
Evelyn Phyllis (Fulgham) Bohner passed away peacefully at home April 27, 2020 at age 80 with Don by her side. She was born November 14, 1939 in Eclipse, Virginia to the late Richard Leonard "Pete" Fulgham and Phyllis Whitley Fulgham. Evelyn taught elementary school in Bay City for many years; she absolutely defined efficiency in home economics, she could sew or craft (and repair) virtually anything . Her wisdom, faith and loyalty to the church was inspiring as she served the Altar Guild, Call Committee, Day Camp and Vacation Bible School. Due to public health restrictions at the time, Evelyn's burial was private.
Don & Evelyn are survived by son Warren Scott Bohner and partner Kristina Wicke of Anacortes, Wa.; his sister-in-law Katherine E. (Fulgham) Marshall of Chester, Va.; nephews Joseph Roehrig of Milwaukee, Wis., John (Cindy) Roehrig of Defiance, Ohio, Michael Roehrig of San Antonio, Tx., Matthew (Brenda) Roehrig of Pensacola, Fla. and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
The memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 18, 2023 at St. Peter Lutheran Church.
